Joanna Dragneva, who represented Bulgaria with the group Deep Zone at the 2008 Eurovision Song Contest, has revealed in an interview her future plans regarding her solo career as well as a possible Eurovision return.
Since Deep Zone’s participation at the Eurovision Song Contest, Joanna Dragneva has been busy over the past few years working on her own solo career. However, she’s now back with a new single called Samo mezhdu nas (Just between us) and is planning to release some more music sometime in the near future.
In an interview with bnt.bg about her new single, she said; The song was produced together with Svetlin Kaslev, DJ Rossko and Rachel Rowe. The song is about love, those secret things that happen “just between us” – just between two people. Such is the plot of the video – this magic and fire that happens between me and the main character. Peter Petkov directed the video and his is the whole idea of the video. When asked if the song was connected to her life, she said; No, not really. It has no connection with real life, things do not happen so easily. But you never know…

When asked what else she has planned right now, she said; This morning I received an amazing demo, the song will be really great. We started working on the song immediately after the presentation of the video Samo mezhdu nas. You can expect a lot of new things from me. She later went on to say; I’m working on a few duets at the moment, however I’m in no hurry to release it because I want the song to be complete.
In relation to a Eurovision return, Joanna stated; I have not given up in any case, but we’ll see. When I have the right song, then I would try again. The experience was great – it’s a very big responsibility to represent Bulgaria on such a big stage in front of so many people […] Indeed, countries support each other, but if the song is beautiful then the public will vote, regardless of which end of Europe they’re from.
On the 28 November, Joanna will be taking part in a concert in Veliko Tarnovo to raise money to help the construction of a playground in the city. The concert will be starting at 19:00 local time (18:00 CET).
