Dziesma 2013, the Latvian national selection of this year’s hopeful to the 58th Eurovision Song Contest is concluding tonight with the grand final, taking place in Ventspils.

The programme:

Two semi-finals took place during the past weeks from which  a total of 12 acts qualified  for tonight’s final ( 6 acts from each semfinal). Hence, 12 acts will compete for the golden ticket to Malmӧ, this coming May. Tonight’s winner and this year’s representative of Latvia will be decided by a 50/50 combination of a jury’s verdict and televoting.

How to watch:

The programme will kick off at 20:25 CET and will be aired live on LTV1. It will be also streamed live on LTV’s official website and the webtv of the Eurovision Song Contest ‘s official website.

The interval act of the show will feature some special guests: Dons, Jānis Stībelis, čellu trio „DaGamba”,  Anmary ( Latvia 2012), Ott Lepland ( Estonia 2012) (Igaunija), Melo M, Labvēlīgais tips, and Vineta will perform after the presentation of the 12 competing songs.

Twelve songs will be  competing and below  you can find  the running order of the show that was announced earlier this week by LTV:

8. I Need a Hero – SAMANTA TĪNA
9. Cold heart – IEVA SUTUGOVA
10. Love – grupa HEADLINE
11. Upside down – SABĪNE BEREZINA
12. Here we go – grupa PeR.

Latvia debuted at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2000 with Brainstorm’s My Star and has won the contest once in 2002 with Marie N’s  I wanna. This year is taking part at the 2nd semi-final on May 14th.
