The Voice Of Holland 2018 winner Jim van der Zee has submitted the song I do believe it’s time as possible Dutch ESC 2019 entry.

As Dutch broadcaster AVROTROS is keeping pretty silent about its Eurovision 2019 selection process, rumours are running wild.

Now a substantial piece of news is known: The Voice Of Holland 2018 victor Jim van der Zee (Driebergen, 1995), who was part of team Anouk (Eurovision 2013), recently revealed more information about the song he submitted to AVROTROS’ selection committee: I do believe it’s time.

He shared on Facebook:

I  do believe it’s time

On Friday 4 January, Jim van der Zee was a guest in the radio show Volgspot on NPO Radio 5, where he discussed his new musical material and upcoming theatre tour The Voice, The Guitar & The Piano with host Hijlco Span. The artist performed a part of his song I do believe it’s time, actually one of two potential Eurovision 2019 entries he submitted to AVROTROS.

Jim van der Zee stated:

Ah, that song. I submitted two songs, I believe (…) Some time ago, I had the plans last year (…) I don’t think it will be selected, though, I heard that they are looking for something more danceable (…) Maybe for next year, I’m thinking of really writing a song for that in the next year.

Listen to the episode of Volgspot here, where Jim’s talk about Eurovision and the snippet of I do believe it’s time starts around 1:48:10.

We can safely say that Jim submitted two songs, including I do believe it’s time, yet that the selection committee is still looking for various music styles, including dance. Ánd that Jim seriously wants to make work of Eurovision, if not for this year, than for the 2020 edition!
