We’re heading to Belarus tonight, namely to Minsk for the 2018 Belarusian national final where the 2018 Belarusian Eurovision entry and hopeful will be selected.

A total of 10 acts will battle for the golden ticket to Lisbon at the 2018 Belarusian national final. BTRC is in full steam and has organized an extraordinary show to determine its 2018 Eurovision entry.

The Participants

About the show

Ten candidates will compete in tonight’s show for the right to defend the Belarusian colours at the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest in Lisbon. The show will be hosted by Olga Ryzhikov and Theo. and Theo (Eurovision 2014).

The 2017 Belarusian Eurovision hopefuls Naviband will grace the ocassion and perform during tonight’s show.

The 2018 Belarusian Eurovison act and entry will be determined via a mixed 50/50 public televoting/professional jury deliberation.

Belarus in Eurovision

Belarus debuted at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2004 in Istanbul and is yet to win the event.

The country achieved its best placing in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2007 when Koldun placed 6th in Helsinki with Work your magic. The country has only qualified 5 times in its 14 year history in Eurovision.

In 2017, Naviband flew the Belarusian flag in Kyiv with their ethno-influenced melody Story of my life. The handsome couple placed 17th in the Grand Final.

Belarus is set to compete in the First Semi-final of the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest on 8 May in Lisbon.
