Eurovision 2015: EBU visits Wiener Stadthalle

Earlier this week, Eurovision teams from ORF and EBU visited Vienna to assess the Wiener Stadthalle for the first time.

Jon Ola Sand (Executive Supervisor) and Sietse Bakker (Event Supervisor) from the EBU and several people from the Eurovision team at ORF including Edgar Böhm (Executive Producer) visited the arena which will host the Eurovision Song Contest 2015 next May.

Jon Ola Sand’s comments about the Stadthalle were very positive:

The Stadthalle is a very good choice for the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest – the venue has the space, capacity and know-how to run big events. Of course the contest is a very special event, but it seems to perfectly fit. We will have compact “games” with a good flow for artists, press and delegations.

The Wiener Stadthalle is easily accessible as it is situated in the middle of the city of Vienna. Jon Ola says most of the hotels will be in short radius of the arena. The 2015 Eurovision Song Contest is scheduled to be held on 19, 21 and 23 May at the Wiener Stadthalle in Vienna.
