This is not the first time Anastasia has shown an interest in representing her country at the Eurovision Song Contest.

Back in 2010, Anastasia competed in the Ukrainian national selection for the 2011 Eurovision Song Contest with her entry Action. Receiving a combined total of 12.20 points, Anastasia finished in 8th position at the national selection, the year Mika Newton was selected as the Ukrainian representative with her song Angel.

Previously, Anastasia was selected to represent Russia at the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest with her entry Mamo. Anastasia received a total of 91 points at the Grand Final, finishing in 11th position.

Earlier this year, NTU confirmed Ukraine’s return to the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest following a year’s absence. Ukraine’s selection process for the upcoming contest is set to be revealed in due course, however it is likely that the country will opt for a national selection.
