Swedish broadcaster SVT has announced today that Clara Henry (19) will be the hostess of the Melodifestivalen 2014’s web shows.

Clara is a blogger, known widely in Sweden thanks to her YouTube videos and her web show on the Swedish TV5 “Med Clara Henry” (With Clara Henry).

For every round in this year’s competition, Clara will present two shows through a live broadcast online on svt.se/melodifestivalen and SVT Play:

  • Uppsnack – A preliminary show to be broadcasted right after the last dress rehearsal on Saturday afternoons
  • Eftersnack A show where Clara will meet the winners of each round. It will be broadcasted right at the end of each round, at 21:30 local time.

Clara is said to be like Gina Dirawi, who actually hosted Melodifestivalen during the previous two years. Clara herself responded and said:

“Gina is a very good host, when she follows a script and also when she improvises. I see many similarities between us as we both have a background as bloggers and YouTube stars. I believe many can see a similar charm in me, like in her.”

Melodifestivalen 2014 will kick-off with its first semifinal on February 1st and will end with the grand final on March 8th, where the Swedish entry for ESC 2014 will be chosen.
