As January 3 was the last day to submit songs for national pre-selection in Lithuania, it's today that we find out first participants' names that will fight for the chance of representing the Baltic country at this year's Eurovision Song Contest. It's also known that the winner will be decided by the jury.

It is yet unknown how many songs have been submitted to LRT in order to take part in the Lithuanian selection. As esctoday.com reported back in November, an internal committee will select an undeterminednumber of entries that will make it to the televised stage of the process.

One of the saddest news for eurofans is that the participant of numerous previous Lithuanian national finals Aiste Pilvelyte has decided to do not take part this year. Although another Lithuanian Eurovision diva Ruta Sciogolevaite has submitted a song called I will break free. The song is partly written by Ruta's boyfriend from Elvin Dandel who is German.

Another surprise this year in Lithuanian pre-selection is that Sasha Song (Lithuania 2009) and Donatas Montvydas (Lithuanian NF 2009, 2010) are going to participate as duo with song Best friends. However D. Montvydas who recently has won Lithuanian celebrity dance show, has shown interest in participating as solo singer with Let me, which you can listen to below.

Meanwhile, several other artists have shown interest in representing Lithuania next year in Düsseldorf by submitting songs to LRT. Gabriele Kucinskaite, Donatas Valentelis and Karolis Sliazas have joined forces and have applied together with the song Love is the blessing. The three of them have singing experience in choirs in their respective cities.

Dovydas Mascinskas is known to the Lithuanian public mainly thanks to his participation in the show Lietuvos talentu, where he reached the final. This year, Dovydas will be making his third attempt to qualify for the Lithuanian selection with the blues song Dirty Avenue.

Neferite is a newcomer in the Lithuanian music scene. She hopes to represent her country next year with 3 norai (Three wishes), a song composed by songwriter and lead singer of Amberlife Edgaras Lubys. Amberlife have participated in the Lithuanian selections in 2004, 2006 and 2010.

The head of Lithuanian delegation Audrius Girzadas has told to the press that during pre-selection heats both televoters and jurors will vote. If some songs get equal votes – it will be jury's favorite song that will go through to the next stage of pre-selection. Also it's been stated by LRT that during the final there will be two voting rounds. Televoters and jury will pick three songs which will have to be performed one more time on the very same final night. Only then jury consisting of 15 people will choose the winner.

It's not known yet when the pre-selection heats will start and how many of them will be. Stay tuned for more news.
