Switzerland: Internal selection for Eurovision 2010

SRG SSR idée suisse, the swiss broadcasters for the Eurovision Song Contest 2010 have launched their selection process for Oslo next year.

Switzerland are looking for songs of "an international standard." There will be public invitation to submit entries as well as the broadcasters inviting artists from the music industry to participate.

The search for songs may extend across other media such as internet and radio. Proposals must be submitted by the 22nd of October 2009 at the latest. There will be no requirements regarding the language of the song'slyrics.

Performers must meet the following criteria:

  1. Television and stage experience. (live performances)
  2. They must have made at least one video.
  3. They must have released at least one CD and had it placed among the top 50 in an official chart.

Possible performers may also be approached directly by SRG.

Performers, composers andlyricists need not be Swiss citizens or resident in Switzerland. A national jury will decide which artist(s) will represent Switzerland with which song at the Eurovision Song Contest 2010 and their selection may or may not involve public consultation.
