More than 300 songs presented in Spain

More than 300 songs have been submitted to TVE, in order to compete in the 2008 Spanish Eurovision final. Many well known artists both on the Eurovision Song Contest scene and Spanish musical scene have submitted their songs in their quest to represent Spain in Belgrade. They have uploaded their entries on their personal myspace pages. 244 songs have been accepted so far, as the deadline to submit songs is opened until February the 13th.

TVE, the Spanish national publicbroadcaster has worked diligently and put great effort in coming up with a fresh and innovative method to choose the Spanish 2008 Eurovision entry. Using Myspace to upload songs along with an introduction video of the artist Salvemos Eurovision has invited singers and composers from all over Spain to enter the competion.

TVE's latest Eurovision selection methodhas made headlines in the Spanish media, as most of the major newspapers, web portals and media have been covering the forthcoming Spanish Eurovision final along with the potential candidates. Well known artists in the Spanish showbiz world have made news by entering a song to represent Spain, ie: La Decada Prodigiosa, La Casa Azul, Malena Gracia, Mayte, Mirela, Coral, Santa Fe and Davinia. Even some of the candidates from last year's Mision Eurovision are among the potential candidates to represent Spain, ie: Anael, Baltanas, Yanira Figueroa to mention a few.

Online voting will be held on Myspace from the 14th to the 23rd of February. 5 entries will be chosen by the public via online voting and 5 more by an expert jury.The Spanish national final is scheduled to be held on the 1st of March with 10 songs in the running.
