Norway: Maria Haukaas Storeng to Begrade

Maria Haukaas Storeng is the winner of the 2008 Norwegian Melodi Grand Prix with Hold on, be strong. Maria qualified to the Super Final tonight where she beat the other favourites of the evening by a landslide.

Four songs qualified to the Super Final of the 2008 Melodi Grand Prix where she won by a landslide with almost 80.000 votes more than the runner-up Torstein Sødal. Maria beat all the hot favourites of the night, including the much discussed King of Trolls.

The following four acts made it to the super final:
Hold on be strong – Maria Haukaas Storeng 195.661 votes
Eastern wind – Torstein Sødal 118.095 votes
Am I supposed to love again – Veronica Akselsen
Far away – King of Trolls

Norway will be competing in the first Eurovision Song Contest semi final on 20th May in Belgrade.
