On Saturday and Sunday, 15th and 16th of September, 120 candidates for Euro Lice, the Serbian selection for the hosts of next year's Beovizija and possibly the Eurovision Song Contest, were screen tested by a special RTS jury.

The jury, comprising of Nataša Miljković (journalist), Darko Kamarit (director) and Sandra Šuša (RTS head of entertainment), selected 120 candidates out of a total of 800 applicants. The 120 lucky ones were tested for general culture, knowledge of English and screen tested. 48 candidates will be selected by the same jury to proceed to the next phase which is the actual Euro lice show itself. During the 20 scheduled shows one couple will be voted by the public to host this year's Serbian national final and possibly the contest in May.

Euro lice will kick off on 24 September on RTS but it will not be webcast. Amongst the candidates in the running are Bebi Dol (Yugoslavia 1991), Andjelija Vujovic (model), Bojan Bijelic (Pop star), Aleksandar Djordjevic, Ivan Golusin, Vanja Milicic, Jelena Kovacevic (Beovizija 2007), Milan Milicic (former model and TV presenter) as well as Ekstra Nena (Yugoslavia 1992) and the Swedish presenter of Serbian origin Jovan Radomir.

A very special thank you to Aleksandar Kesic for his contribution to the article.

Thanks to Johnny Logan and Hold me now I fell in love with the Eurovision Song Contest, a love that's been going strong ever since with undiminished passion. My first memories date back to 1977 and the lyrics of Rock bottom, Dschinghis Khan and A ba ni bi are still engraved in my brain.

I joined esctoday.com in 2006 as a junior editor after being invited by Barry Viniker, I soon became Senior Editor and during the 2007 contest in Helsinki I was appointed Head of Communications. Today I hold the post of Head of Human Resources and I am proud to be working with the best editorial team in the world.
