The people at Latvian state broadcaster LTV are working hard these days to prepare for the 2003 Eurovision Song Contest. Mr Juhan Paadam, EBU representative reports that said the Latvians are warming up, trying to care for a special evening again!

Mr Paadam went to Riga a few days ago in order to monitor the Latvians' preparations for the contest. At the end of this week, the venue for Riga 2003 will be known, although the list of nominees is rather limited as only the Skonto Olympic Hall and the BT1-hal in the district of Kipsala can facilitate the “Euronight''.

LTV are trying to find commercial partners who want to organise the Contest together with them. The Latvian government has promised to donate a sum corresponding to 3.9 milion euro to organise the Eurovision Song Contest 2003.
