SVT, the Swedish national broadcaster has confirmed Sweden’s participation at the forthcoming 2017 Eurovision Song  Contest in Ukraine. Preparations for Melodifestivalen 2017 have kicked off.

This year’s Eurovision host broadcaster SVT is already in the process of laying out its plans for its magnificent Eurovision national selection Melodifestivalen for 2017 as melodifestivelen.se reports.

The 2016 Eurovision Song Contest and Melodifestivalen producer Mr. Christer Bjorkman comments regarding next year’s Melodifestivalen.

We have already started work on the set design and selected the producer. We are already in discussions regarding this matter and we’re working on it.

SVT is expected to release more information regarding Melodifestivalen 2017 along its rules and regulations in the coming months.

SVT and the City of Stockholm worked round the clock in order to showcase an extraordinary show when Sweden hosted the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest last month.

Thus Sweden joins Denmark, Finland, Norway, Switzerland, France, Germany, Ukraine, The Netherlands, Belgium, Ireland and Estonia all whom have confirmed their participation at the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest in Ukraine.

Sweden has won the ESC 6 times: 1974, 1984, 1991, 1999, 2012 and 2015.

In 2015 Frans represented Sweden with his enty If I we’re sorry, achieving an honorable 5th place in the grand final.
