Belgium: RTBF confirms participation in Eurovision 2017

RTBF, the French speaking Belgian broadcaster has confirmed to ESCToday that Belgium will participate at the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest.

RTBF is yet to determine the mechanism it will use to select the 2017 Belgian Eurovision entry and act. More details regarding the 2017 Belgian Eurovision project will be released in the coming months.

Thus Belgium is coming to the Eurovision party in 2017 and joins The Netherlands, Germany, Norway, Finland, Switzerland, Ukraine, Estonia and France all whom have confirmed their participation at next year’s Eurovision edition in Ukraine.

Belgium is one of the founder members of the Eurovision Song Contest having debuted at the 1956 Eurovision Song Contest. The country has won the competition once in 1986 with Sandra Kim‘s J’aime la vie.

The preliminary dates for the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest have been set on 16, 18 and 20 May.
