The 2007 edition of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest will be staged in Rotterdam, the second largest city in the Netherlands. The most probable venue is Ahoy' Rotterdam but it is not sure that the contest will be held there yet. Steve De Coninck-De Boeck of the EBU told this to our colleagues from eurosong.be.

News from 11th September: Earlier, the EBU announced that the Netherlands would host the 2007 edition of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest but the host city and venue were still unknown. Steve De Coninck-De Boeck of the EBU told our colleagues from eurosong.be that Rotterdam will be thehost cityand that Ahoy' Rotterdam will probably bethe venue.

Ahoy'Rotterdam already hosted three Dutch national finals for the (adult) Eurovision Song Contest, in 2000, 2001 and 2003. These national finals were held in het sportpaleis, the largest hall within the venue with a maximum capacity of 10.000 visitors. If Ahoy' Rotterdam will eventually be the venue of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2007, it is very likely that the contest will be held in that hall as well.

UPDATE 12th September: Dutch broadcaster AVRO responded to the above news/rumour to our colleagues from songfestival.web-log. In that reaction AVRO states that De Coninck-De Boeck spoke prematurely. AVRO is still negotiating with several venues in different cities and has not taken any decision on where the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2007 will be held.
