While the ground under the Abdi Ipekçi arena in Istanbul is still hot, Swedish musicians can already send in songs for Melodifestivalen 2005 until 28th September this year! Broadcaster SVT announced that 32 songs will be chosen.
Four semifinals, one wildcard round and a final take place to select the Swedish entry for the 50th Eurovision Song Contest. Songs in Swedish have SVT's preference, as at least 10 songs will be performed in Swedish.
Lena Philpsson, who performed It hurts last Saturday in Istanbul, qualified Sweden for next year's final. As in previous years, SVT expects thousands of songs to be submitted.
