Official dates announced for Romanian selection

According to an e-mail from the Romanian broadcaster TVR, the Romanian preselection will take place in two rounds.

On January 23 a number of 24 songs, selected by the internal jury, will be chosen for the next two national selections.

On February 15, six songs out of twelve competing songs, will be chosen by a jury (50% of the vote) and by a telephone vote (the other 50%). On February 22 a number of six songs, out of the rest of twelve competing songs, will be chosen by a jury (50% of the vote) and by a telephone vote (50% of the vote).

The best 12 songs will fight for the first position in a final on March 1. The song that is going to represent Romania at the Eurovision Song Contest 2003 in Riga will be chosen by a jury (50% of the vote) and by a telephone vote (50% of the vote).

The live programmes will be broadcasted on Romania International Channel.
