Some experienced artists have already been selected by the broadcaster NRK to participate in the Norwegian national final Melodi Grand Prix 2003. For the fresher artists, an audition to which 16 young singers were invited, was organized by NRK this Sunday, on December 15.

To insure the artists showing off their talent in the recorded tapes submitted to the internal NRK jury, as well have something impressive to offer during a potential live performance, the broadcaster invited 16 of these youngsters to perform their song live twice for a special selected jury consisting of no less than twenty persons, all with experience from the world of music, entertainment and television. Before they got this far, another jury had picked out these 16 artists.

The three main factors being analyzed closely during the audition were of course the voice, but also their charismatic radiation, as well as their ability to play or flirt with the audience, and more important; the essential TV camera.

According to Kato Hansen, head of OGAE Norway, the audition resulted successful since the performers really proved that they have something to offer on a Eurovision stage, by delivering a mixture of dreamy ballads, catchy europop, classy rock and pure disco rhytms.
