Ivan & Delfin will represent Poland at the Eurovision Song Contest in Kiev. That is the result of the internal selection that took place this week at Polish national broadcaster TVP. Their song Czarna dziewczyna has just been presented during a special programme Stratosfera on TVP1.

28 people were involved as members of the special selection commision which has chosen the Polish representative for this year's Eurovision Song Contest. For the very first time TVP invited Eurovision fans to the commision. From 63 submitted entries the one has been chosen. The result has just been made public in the programme Stratosfera on TVP1, dedicated to Eurovision Song Contest, where former representatives were present, including Justyna Steczkowska (1995), Ich Troje (2003) and Blue Cafe (2004).

The song Czarna Dziewczyna (The blackhaired girl) is an up-tempo and catchy song with Gipsy elements, sung in Polish and Ukrainian. Ivan Komarenko, the main vocalist of the band, is Russian. He wrote the lyrics together with Paweł Radziszewski. The song is composed by Łukasz Lazer.

Runner-up in the internal selection was First Kiss by M. Jarosińska and Z. Boczar. The second runner-up was No name song by ABRA. One of the favourites during the selection process was Offside (participant at the Polish national final in 2004 with Dreaming about you), but they were disqualified, because the song was on their debut album, released on 20th November 2004. The rules of the Polish selection were clear: songs cannot be released in any way before 1st December 2004.

Ivan & Delfin will represent Poland in the semifinal of the Eurovision Song Contest in Kiev.
