A set of preview video's has been presented to all local broadcasters in order to give everybody a first glimpse on the 26 songs to be performed in Riga. Despite the absense of a rule to force countries to produce video clips, sixteen countries have chosen to do so. Among which Romania with a “humorous look at how a performer can win at the Eurovision Song Contest” and Germany, who created a cartoon.

On various places on the internet fans can watch and/or download the videos. Official Dutch songcontest website songfestival.nl offers video's in Windows Media format, while Finnish broadcaster YLE chose to provide them in Real Video.

As can been seen in the Dutch video stream, the sattalite transmission broke during the German video. This was quickly fixed, they rewinded the tape and transmission continued in a very good quality.
