As it was highly expected, Elnur Huseynov will represent Azerbaijan in the 2008 Eurovision Song Contest with Day by day, a duet he wil perform together with Samir Javadzadeh, the singer himself told today the Azeri Press Agency.

Elnur Huseynov won the right to represent Azerbaijan in the debut of the country in the Eurovision Song Contest but the particular song with which he will go to Belgrade remained undecided. In the final Elnur performed two songs, Day after Day and If you're never back. The final choice of the song for Belgade though lay with the jury and the organisation committee. Shortly after his victory, Elnur stated:“I want to sing with Samir in this contest. Otherwise, I will refuse. I do not intend to participate in the contest alone .If my opinion is taken into account, I will prefer only duet,” thus hinting clearly which song he would like to perform after all.

Although no official statement has been issued by the Azeri broadcaster so far, APA states that Elnur himself confirms today that he will indeed travel to Belgrade with Day after day, the song he performs together with his close friend Samir Javadzadeh.
