The 2017 Eurovision Song Contest will take place in Kyiv, Ukraine.

Kyiv is the capital of Ukraine. With a population of nearly 3 million, it is the largest city in Ukraine. Officially, Kyiv was founded in 482 (A.D.).

The capital of Ukraine hosted three Eurovision events before; the Eurovision Song Contest in 2005, the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2009 and 2012. In 2012, the city’s newly renovated Olimpiyskiy Stadium hosted the final of the EURO2012 football tournament. The city plans to host the 2017 contest at the International Exhibition Centre, the largest venue of its kind in Ukraine with capacity for 11,000 spectators.

Jamala won the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest in Stockholm for Ukraine with the song 1944.
