The Eurovision Dance Contest 2007 is taking place right now at the BBC Television Centre in London.

The show has just kicked off. While the trailer is shown, the international commentators introduce the audience to the competition. Claudia Winkleman and Graham Norton now say welcome to the audience and proof their comedy skills.

Keep in mind, the voting starts now!

FIRST ROUND

1. Switzerland

Denise Biellmann and Svenn Ninnemann dance the Paso Doble to Catherina Valente's version of Maluguena. They are dressed in red and black, the typical colours for the dance. The dramatic performance – and especially the Flamenco part – is very energetic and the audience gives a warm applause for the very first entry of the Eurovision Dance Contest ever.

2. Russia

The first Rumba of the evening is – as the dance is supposed to be – very romantic. She is dressed all in white, he wears black trousers and a white shirt; both are showing some skin. The chroreography is supposed to be reflect the balcony scene of Romeo & Juliet; the music is taken from the soundtrack of that film.

3. Netherlands

The Dutch couple puts it in a nutshell: Europe should vote for them because "they are the best". The song Sexbomb is reflected in the cotumes: while he is wearing black, she is dressed in a very short golden dress. The Cha-cha-cha is probably the most lively performance so far and the audience is very enthusiastic.

4. United Kingdom

Camilla Dallerup from Denmark and Brendan Cole from New Zealand now dance for the host country. The second Rumba is danced to Barbara Streisand's the way we were in pink and black. The couple uses the whole stage for the emotional interpretation. No surprise that it's the biggest applause so far.

5. Austria

Kelly Kainz – the only dancer who was actually born in the United Kingdom – and her husband Andy reflect the military attitude of the Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy, which was a World War II tune, in their costumes. The jive is very lively and makes clear that the Jive and the Rock'n'roll are relatives. Another enthusiastic reaction.

6. Germany

The only Samba in the first round of the evening come from Germany. Wolke and Oliver – dressed in pink and black – have chosen Lady marmelade as song. It's the cover version of the song and also includes the rap part. The couple is very charismatic and seems to enjoy the show.

7. Greece

The second Jive comes from Ourania and Spiros and is based on the Blues brothers tune. The chreopgraphy starts as kind of a robot dance and the colourful costumes give the whole performance kind of a funny 1970s attitude. The charismatic couple is obviously very happy with their performance.

8. Lithuania

The classic tune Carmenby Georges Bizet stands out this evening. The couple picks up the origins of the Paso doble ans present it as a visual interpretation of a bullfight. That's why he is dressed as a matador and she as a Spanish Senorita.Less lively than the other performances, but verydramatic.

9. Spain

Zucchero's Baila morena is the song to Amagoya's and Abraham'sCha-cha-cha. Another couple that shows much skin. It's a classic interpretation of the Cha-cha-cha and contains all typical elements of that dance.

10. Ireland

Another lively Jive comes from Ireland. Pink and black seem to be the colours of the night. The whole performance gives a nice impression of a 1950s Rock'n'roll café. Frankie Lymon's Why do fools fall in love is the song.

11. Poland

A groovy and rhythmic interpretation of the Cha-cha-cha comes from Poland. The couple is dressed in black and white. Michael Bublés Sway fits very well.

12. Demark

The youngest couple of the evening comes from Denmark. The third Rumba is performed by Mette and David in bright blue outifts. Another romantic performance that goes well with Olivia's song Love fool. Overall a very artistic performance.

13. Portugal

Sónia says that she is especially nervous since she is competing against professional dancers. Modonna's Hanky Panky is the song to this night's third jive. Another couple in pink an black. During the performance they swap their hats before they throw them away – which would be a violation of the rules in a "real" dance tournament. Energetic and lively – just as the Jive is supposed to be.

14. Ukraine

This Quickstep is the only Standard dance in the first round and therefore the costumes – a tuxedo and a Qucikstep dress – stand out. The song is taken from the Mona lisa smile soundtrack and reminds of Puttin' on the ritz. They show why the Quickstep is called the champagne among the ballroom dances.

15. Sweden

Europe's Final countdown might be an unusual choice for a Paso Doble, so that the fouth interpretation of the song stands out. The couple is – also unusual – dressed all in white and seems to enjoy the dance a lot.

16. Finland

The last dance of the first round and the last Rumba comes from Finland. Carmen Mc Rae's All in love is fair is one of the slowest songs – even for a Rumba. The performance is very emotional and dramatic and goes well with the audience.

SECOND ROUND

1. Switzerland

Dressed all in black at the beginning, the couple from Switzerlands opens the second round. At the beginning a chair is the centre of the performance before Sven tears down Denise's suit and the dance gets more lively. Feeling good is Michael Bublés second song this evening.

2. Russia

The Russian couple, dressed up as gypsies, performs a Paso Doble with many Flamenco elements. Maria danced baarfoot, Vladislac wore boots which was supposed to reflect the dominance of the man in the Paso Doble.

3. Netherlands

All in black, it's getting romantic again. Amy Winhouse's Will you still love me tomorrow works very well with the Rumba. Although it's a freestyle dance, it's more of a classic Rumba.

4. United Kingdom

Brandan Bond ans Camilla have chosen various James Bond theme songs for their freestyle. During the performance, he tears down Camilla's clothes until she wears not much more than a bikini. The costume change did not work flawlessly.

5. Austria

Andy's and Kelly's clothes for the Paso Doble / Vienesse Waltz are inspired by the film Pirates of the Carribean. The song The black pearl is taken form its soundtrack. Thanks to the costumes the whole performance looks like taken from a musical.

6. Germany

A Bonnie Tyler medley is the music for the German freestyle which contains Rumab, Samba and some actobatic elements. There is a costume change from black to gold and the audience receives the performance very well.

7. Greece

Although the Sirtaki is actually not an old Greek folk dance, the second performance could not be more Greek. As an extra, Spiros also does some breakdance. At the end they show olives in rememberance of the victims of the fire catastrophe.

8. Lithuania

The second dance couldn'tbe more different. In prior to thesongCuban Pete, the couple dressed up as character's from Jim Carry's The mask. A shrill and funny performance.

9. Spain

No surprise that Spain presents the most typical Paso Doble of the evening. The matator theme is refelcted very well and also contains the red sheet, which is actually supposed to be the woman. The dominance of the man is very obvious.

10. Ireland

It's Riverdance and therefor of course very Irish. The Fandango – a tap dance – stands out and can hardly be compared to the other performances. Nevertheless, thanks to Lord of the dance, the audience might be used to the style.

11. Poland

A medley of the slow Rumba and the fast Samba to a medley of the Ballad Private emotion and the up-tempo song She bangs. The rising energy works very well and the costumes in red, black and white look very good.

12. Denmark

The youngest couple and the most modern song (by Justin Timerlake) come from Denmark. Both are sitting on chairs before an alarm clock wakes them up. It's the only hip hop performance and might be very popular especially with the younger audience.

13. Portugal

The unusual interpretation of the Tango contains some spectacular moves and figures. The colours are black and red and typical for the dance style. Overall a professional performance.

14. Ukraine

A mix of a showdance and a folk dance comes from Ukraine. Song and performance are very lively and the audience claps along. Towards the end, there are some acrobatic moves. The costumes pick uo the folk elements.

15. Sweden

Dressed up as a football player, Martin starts with some breakdance. Nevertheless, the Disco Inferno contains another eight songs. Another shirt is torn down and it's by far the most versatile freestyle performance.

16. Finland

The last dance of the evening is a very classy Paso doble which is preformed by the two Finns who are dressed all in black. An oratoricaland dramatic performance.

With all dances dances, we can now wait for the results!

Now, Enrique Iglesias performs the interval act. Actually, the performance is not live and was recorded before the show, probably because of schedule difficulties.
