Austria: Conchita Wurst in the heart of Europe

by Fernando Méndez 251 views

This year’s Eurovision winner will sing in front of the European Parliament.

Conchita Wurst has shown that she is eager to be part of initiatives, actions and events against discrimination. In her own words, when you are committed to love, respect and tolerance, you enter a large movement supported by the people in Europe and in the political world, even though it is fought back by certain forces.

As part of her involvement in the support of tolerance, the Austrian singer will be performing in a one-hour concert upon invitation by Members of the European Parliament. The latter passed a report against homophobia earlier this year.

The concert will be held at the Esplanade Solidarnosc, in front of the European Parliament Building in Brussels, Belgium on 8 October 2014 at 13:00 CET.

Conchita Wurst won the 2014 Eurovision Song Contest for Austria with Rise like a phoenix.
