The British national broadcaster, BBC, has announced that it has launched ‘Your Ultimate 21st Century Song’, thus inviting BBC Radio 2 listeners to choosed their favorite Eurovision song from the 21st century.
The UK’s favorite ‘Ultimate 21st Century’ Song will be unveiled via a special Top 40 countdown chart broadcast on BBC Sounds from 22 April. The special show will be hosted by Michelle Visage.
The BBC’s Official Press relase reads:
‘Your Ultimate 21st Century Eurovision Song’ will be aired on Radio 2 and BBC Sounds from 3-5pm on Eurovision Super Saturday (17 May), with all shows building up the excitement to the Grand Final that night – presented by Rylan and Scott Mills on Radio 2 and BBC Sounds – which will see the UK’s entry, Remember Monday, performing What the Hell Just Happened?.

The voting kicked off today on the The Scott Mills Breakfast Show on BBC Radio 2. A total of 67 songs are in contention, listeners can cast up to five votes. The voting window closes at 12 pm on 11 April.

With just over a month to go until the Grand Final of the Eurovision Song Contest in Basel – the first time the city has hosted the event – Radio 2 has launched a listener vote to discover Your Ultimate 21st Century Eurovision Song!
The vote – which was launched this morning (31 March) on The Scott Mills Breakfast Show (6.30-9.30am) – gives listeners the opportunity to ‘make their mind up’ and cast up to five votes from a list of 67 songs here. The vote closes at 12 noon on Friday 11 April.
The results will be revealed in a Top 40 countdown chart hosted by Radio 2 presenter and lifelong Eurovision superfan, Michelle Visage, exclusively on BBC Sounds from Tuesday 22 April. This is when Radio 2’s celebration of Eurovision launches on BBC Sounds and will also feature Your Ultimate 21st Century Eurovision Song – The Extras (an hour-long bonus playlist featuring the songs that didn’t make the Top 40), Sophie Ellis-Bextor’s Eurovision Kitchen Disco Special, and Rylan and Scott Mills’ Pop Top 10s: Eurovision Icons with guest Duncan James, and more.

The shortlist of 67 songs includes all the winners from the Eurovision Song Contest between 2000-2024, plus a panel of Eurovision experts from Radio 2 and beyond has selected the rest, comprising a selection of runners-up, iconic performances and fan favourites spanning 33 countries.
The Grand Final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 will take place at St. Jakobshalle, Basel, on Saturday 17 May. The Semi-Finals take place on Tuesday 13 and Thursday 15 May and will be presented on Radio 2. The Grand Final and the Semi Finals will be broadcast live on BBC One and BBC iPlayer, BBC Radio 2 and BBC Sounds.
