About the show

A total of 9 acts will be battling for the golden ticket to Eurovision 2025.  The show will be hosted by Barbara Schoneberger.

The Grand Final will consist of two rounds. During the first round all 9 acts will perform 2 songs (a cover song/ their respective ESC potential entries). After this the special jury consisting of Stefan Raab, Conchita Wurst (Austria 2014), Nico Santos and Yvonne Catterfeld wil select a total of five acts for the second round.

During the second round the German audience will vote and select the 2025 German Eurovision act out of the 5 acts. The 2025 German Eurovision entry will be determined via a 100% public voting deliberation.

The 2025 German national selection

The 2025 German national selection aka ‘Chefsache ESC 2025 – Who sings for Germany?’ is co-organized by RTL, Stefan Raab, NDR and ARD with a total of four televised shows.  The first three pre-eliminary shows were broadcast on RTL whilst the Grand Final will be broadcast on ARD Das Erste. A total of 24 acts competed in the competition for the right to represent Germany at ESC 2025. During the pre-eliminary rounds Stefan Raab and an expert jury shortlisted the acts during the first three shows, whilst the 2025 German Eurovision entry and act will be determined by the German public in the Grand Final.

‘Chefsache ESC 2025 – Who sings for Germany?’  kicked off on 14 February and will concludes tonight.

• Second show: Saturday, February 15, 2025 | RTL
• Third show- Semi-final: Saturday, February 22, 2025 | RTL
• Finale: Saturday, March 1, 2025 | 8:15 p.m. | Das Erste
