40 countries will be taking part in the 60th Eurovision Song Contest which will be held in Vienna on 19, 21 and 23 May. As always we begin the series with the host country which this year is Austria. Singing for Austria this year is The Makemakes.

The Makemakes is an Austrian rock band that was formed in 2012. The band is made up of Dodo (Dominic) Muhrer (vocals), Max (Markus) Christ (bass) and Flo (Florian) X. Meindl (drums).

The band became well known in Austria in 2013 when they were fortunate enough to perform as a support act for Bon Jovi at the Vienna Krieau. The following year later the band released their single Million euro smile which reached to number 2 in Austria.

The Makemakes won the right to represent Austria on home ground after beating 16 fellow contestants in the national selection Wer singt für Österreich?
