As the first heat in Malmo on February 1st fast approaches let’s take a minute to meet some of the supporting performers that will be joining the 32 artists on stage throughout the intensive six week spectacular.

Firstly we meet Simon Lingmerth and Matilda Lindell who will be taking on backing vocal duties for the entire Melodifestivalen tour.  Matilda Lindell is quoted as saying “When I was younger, I sat glued to. But now it’s a little different from year to year. It often happens that it rigged up a computer somewhere in a box if you are on the gig, you do not want to miss it.”

Dance has also been an important factor in many years at Melodifestivalen especially when it comes to the spectacle aspect of the contest. Here we meet two of the dancers from this year’s competition. Firstly we have Carin Mårtensson who in addition to various television appearances includes her dancing career of several years at the Wallman salons in Copenhagen and dance training at Dance Line and the prestigious Ballet Academy.

The others member of the dance team also has extensive training behind him. Patrik Riber attended a three-year course at the Royal Ballet School in Stockholm and Hässelby Farm School musical classes. He has also had training in schools such as The Edge, Millennium and Debbi Reynolds in Los Angeles.

Both Simon Lingmerth (vocals) and Carin Martensson (dance) hold Loreen’s winning performance of  Euphoria  in 2012 at the Globen as a personal Melodifestivalen favourite inspiring them as they take to the stage in this years competition which is only weeks away as the first heat is scheduled to take place in Malmo on February 1st 2014.
