Estonia’s national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest, Eesti Laul 2027, has concluded its submission period. A total of 155 entries have been received by Estonian broadcaster ERR, all hoping to represent the nation in the upcoming competition.
The submission window for Eesti Laul 2027 officially closed on Thursday, October 8, 2026, at noon Estonian time. Estonian public broadcaster ERR confirmed that a total of 155 songs were submitted to the competition, vying for the chance to represent Estonia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2027. 60 songs were submitted in Estonian, whilst 95 songs were submitted in foreign languages.
Following the closure of submissions, a dedicated preselection jury will now begin the arduous task of evaluating all the entries. This jury, composed of at least 25 members, will assess the songs blindly, without knowledge of the authors or performers. Their goal is to select 12 songs that will advance to the televised Grand Final of Eesti Laul 2027.
The names of the songs and artists qualifying for the final are expected to be announced by ERR no later than October 29, 2026. The competing songs will be relased at the end of November.
The Grand Final of Eesti Laul 2027 is scheduled to take place on January 30, 2027, at the Unibet Arena in Tallinn. The winner will be determined through a combination of jury and public voting, with a superfinal round decided by 100% televoting.
New regulations for Eesti Laul 2027 also stipulate that the winning act must formally confirm their readiness to represent Estonia at Eurovision by February 8, 2027. Should they decline, the opportunity will pass to the next-placed entry.
