With the prototype of the wind machine set in place it was Sweden again that would lead the way with Jill Johnson in Birmingham at the 1998 contest. She was stacked on her 8 inch heels, a giantess amongst her backing singers. Johnson let the gentle breeze stream over her as she sang the beautiful ballad Kärleken är. Interestingly Johnson has gone on record to say some of the lyrics were inspired by the death of Princess Diana. The song was co written by Bobby Ljunggren and Ingela “Pling” Forsman.
