Now nearly fifteen years after her victory the Queen of the wind machine was back. When everyone got “wind” of her performance they all wanted wind machines at the 2006 contest. No one used it to greater effect than Carola. Finally the high priestess of Eurovision had returned with Invincible after storming to victory at Melodifestivalen 2006 earlier that year. With waving flags she performed in the eye of a storm engulfed by what resembled a frenzied hurricane. Carola managed to achieve an admirable 5th position. She did truly look Invincible on stage setting a template and standard that has been much copied and parodied ever since both in and outside of the contest.
