Marco Mengoni the 2013 Italian Eurovision representative’s forthcoming L’ Essenziale tour kicks off on 8 May in Milan at the Teatro Degli Arciboldi. 

Marco will be flying to Malmö right after his concert in Milan on 8 May. He will represent Italy  forthcoming Eurovision Song Contest final on 18 May. He will be back in Italy and will resume his tour on 21 May.

Sony Music Italia has announced that Marco Mengoni’s forthcoming album # PRONTOACORRERE will be released on 19 March. Marco’s new album contains 15 brand new tracks including Marco’s Sanremo winning entry L’Esssenziale.

Last month, RAI, the national Italian broadcaster announced that Marco Mengoni had been selected via an internal selection to represent Italy at the forthcoming Eurovision Song Contest in May. Marco Mengoni won the 2013 edititon of the well known Italian Sanremo Song Festival. The 2013 Italian Eurovision entry is yet to be revealed.

PRONTOACORRERE will also be available in the deluxe version (CD + DVD) , which includes an exclusive backstage video with images  and behind the scene feautures showcasing Marco’s Sanremo 2013 experience.

From 26 February you will be able to  dowload the songs from iTunes, one song per week will be released for downloading. On 19 March, the day when the album will be relased, those who have purchased at least one of the  3 pre released  tracks will be able to obtain the remaining tracks at a special price. On 26 February Non passerai will be available for dowloading whilst on 5 March Bellissimo  and on 12 March Non me ne accorgo.You can even order the album on Amazon.it from 26 February onwards.

Marco has gained much success and recognition since his victory last month at the 2013 San Remo Song Festival with his entry L’ Essenziale. His winning entry is currently the 2nd most downloaded song in Italy and has gone platninum. The official videoclip of L’Essenziale has received more than 4 million view in less than 2 weeks on the official Vevo video channel.

Who is Marco Mengoni?

Marco was born in 1985 in Italy and has been singing since the tender age of 14.Marco Mengoni shot to fame in 2009 when he won the 3rd season of the Italian version of the X Factor. The following year he competed at the 60th Sanremo Song Festival with the song Credimi Ancora, achieving a 3rd placing.  He has released a total of 4 albums. In 2010 Marco won the MTV Best Italian Act Award and the MTV Best European Act Award.

Italy debuted at the Eurovision Song Contest  in 1956 and was one of the founder members of the contest. The country has won the event 2 times in 1964 and 1990. Italy withdrew from the event in 1998 and returned back in 2011.
