Maastricht is gearing up for the forthcoming 2020 Eurovision Song Contest Host City race in full steam, gathering all its forces in order to win the bid. The city has released a promotional video of of its candidacy along with a very catchy slogan ‘Come closer’.
The City of Maastricht is one of the hot favourites along with Rotterdam to win the 2020 Eurovision host city bid.
Maastricht is the first candidate city to lift unveil content about of its bid book, which it will submit to NPO tomorrow.
With the theme Come Closer, Maastricht and Limburg want to add intimacy to the grand and exuberant Eurovision Song Contest, by adding an essence of Limburg according to the press release. They want to use the slogan to promote the small, in addition to the large.
According to the Mayor of Maastricht Ms. Anne Marie Penn-te Strake , Maastricht is the perfect location for hosting Eurovision:

Maastricht is vying to hold the 2020 Eurovision Song Contest at the MECC Maastricht and is gearing up with quite a strong bid.
Apart from Maastricht there are four other cities battling to host the 2020 Eurovision Song Contest 2020: Rotterdam, Arnhem, Den Bosch and Utrecht.
All five candidate cities have to hand in the so-called “bidbook” to the organizing body by Wednesday 10 July.
The 2020 Eurovision Host City is set to be unveiled in August along with the dates of the competition.
The 2020 Eurovision Song Contest will be co-produced by three Dutch public broadcasters AVROTROS, NOS and NPO in liason with the EBU.
