The time is flying, the days are passing and the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest is coming closer. With a little less than 60 days left for the Grand Final of the 2017 ESC, preparations are in full swing in Ukraine. The countdown begins…

Last Saturday the 2017 Eurovision national final season concluded with Sweden, Iceland, Norway and Lithuania holding their respective national finals. Last Monday the list of the 2017 Eurovision participants was completed as Bulgaria was the last country to reveal its Eurovision representative. We now know the names of all the competing acts at the forthcoming Eurovision edition.

What about the songs? We have heard all the entries but one, yes we are talking about Armenia. AMPTV is set to release its Eurovision entry on 18 March.

The national host broadcaster UA: PBC and Kyiv City State Administration are working round the clock in order to showcase an extraordinary show in Kyiv come May. The 2017 Heads of Delegation meeting was held in Kyiv earlier this week and the following  Eurovision 2017 event venues and locations were confirmed:

The Euroclub will open for 2 weeks and will be the official night hotspot for delegations, artists, accredited media and Eurovision fans. It will consist of 2 floors and will run from 01-14 May with a capacity of 3,500 persons. During the first Eurovision week only one floor will be open to guests, the second floor will open from 07-14 May.

The 2017 Eurovision Red Carpet Ceremony will be held on the grounds of the Mariinsky Palace on 07 May with a 265 meter carpet. The Official Opening Ceremony/ Welcome Reception will be held  on the same day at the Euroclub just after the Red Carpet event. The event promises to be both exciting and in true Ukrainian style!

The Eurovision Village will run from 04-14 May with lots of concerts, live performances, competitions and fun activities. Tourists, guests, fans and locals will be able to enjoy and experience the Eurovision atmosphere in the heart of the city.

What is in store in the coming days? We should know the running order of the 2 Semi-finals in the coming weeks, when the producers of the show and the host broadcaster are set to reveal the running order. Host country Ukraine was drawn to perform 22nd in the Grand Final during the HoD meeting earlier this week.

All competing 43 countries will start filming their presentation videoclips in the coming weeks, these videos will be shown during the shows preceeding the artists’ live performances. The introduction videos will be filmed in the artists’s respective home countries and in Kyiv.

The Eurovision organizers and UA: PBC will have full access to the Eurovision 2017 venue, the International Exhibition Centre from 22 March, whilst the construction and installation work is set to kick off on 28 March.

More details regarding the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest and its preparations will be released in due course.

The 2017 Eurovision Song Contest is scheduled to be held on 9, 11 and 13 May at the IEC in Kyiv, Ukraine.
