Rubi Machado

Quando a lua voltar a passar

Rubi Machado was born in 1965 in Mozambique, and grew up in Maputo. Her heritage is East Indian and Goan, so she has a unique mixture of Portuguese, African and Indian influences. She has lived in Portugal since 1979. She has been working as a singer since she was 12 years old, performing at events such as weddings and private parties. She has also performed at small festivals around Portugal

She normally sings in Hindi, but working with composer Sebastião Antunes, she will be singing in Portuguese for her performance of his song Quando a lua voltar a passer (when the moon passes again). She has only been singing in Portuguese professionally since 2013, so although she has been singing for many years, this is a new stage in her career.
