LRT, the Lithuanian national broadcaster has confirmed to ESCToday that Lithuania intends to participate at the forthcoming 2020 Eurovision Song Contest in the Netherlands.

Thus Lithuania joins the list of countries who so far have confirmed their participation in the 2020 Eurovision edition:  Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland, San Marino, Czech Republic, Germany, Belgium, Australia and host nation Netherlands.

The Lithuanian broadcaster is yet to unveil its plan of action for Eurovision 2020, it is more than likely that the Baltic nation will select its Eurovision entry and act via a national selection as has been the case in recent years.

More details regarding the 2020 Lithuanian Eurovision project are set to be unveiled in due course.

Lithuania in Eurovision

Lithuania debuted at the Eurovision Song Contest in 1994 and is yet to win the event. The country achieved its best results in the competition in 2006 when it placed 6th with LT United‘s We are the winners in Athens. The Baltic nation has partaken 20 times in Europe’s favourite television show.

In 2019 Jurij Vevlenko won the golden ticket to Tel Aviv with his entry Run with Lions, despite a magnificent performance Lithuania failed to qualify to the Grand Final in Israel.
