Just as the dust begins to settle after the Eurovision edition in Tel Aviv, SMRTV,the Sammarinese national broadcaster, is the next brodcaster to confirm its participation at the forthcoming 2020 Eurovision Song Contest.
SMRTV is very pleased and satisfied with its results at the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest in Tel Aviv. Serhat sailed to the Gran Final, achieving the micro-states’s second Eurovision qualification since its debut in the competition.
SMRTV’s Director General Mr. Carlos Romeo is thrilled with the 2019 Samamarinese Eurovision participation and outcome. He has stated that work has already commenced on the country’s 2020 Eurovision participation in the Netherlands next year:

The Sammarinese broadcaster is yet to unveil its plan of action for Eurovision 2020 and the mechanism it will opt for in order to select its Eurovision hopeful and entry for ESC 2020.
San Marino in Eurovision
San Marino debuted in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2008 with Miodio and is yet to win the event. The landlocked country has participated in Europe’s favorite television show 10 times and has only made it to the Grand Final twice ( in 2014 when Valentina Monetta placed 24th in the Grand Final and in 2019 when Serhat placed 20th in the Grand Final).
Valentina has flown the Sammarinese flag at the Eurovision Song Contest four times ( 2012, 2013, 2014, 2017).
In 2019 Serhat represened San Marino at the Eurovision Song Contest in Tel Aviv with Say na na na, achieving the country’s best results in the competition, placing 20th in the Grand Final in Tel Aviv.
