United Kingdom: Preparation plans for Oslo

The United Kingdom broadcaster, the BBC, has today announced its' plans for the british representative Josh Dubovie's journey, to the Eurovision Song Contest in Oslo.

The 2010 Eurovision Song Contest will begin in around six weeks time, the BBC have given an update on how their plans are progressing for the United Kingdom representative.

Having won 'Your Country Needs You,' the UK national selection show last March to choose their singer for Eurovision 2010, Josh has been working on the final version of "That Sounds Good To Me", which will be released as a single in May.

This week, Josh has beenat the BBCTV Centre working with his backing vocalists and dancers, putting together what's called the Director's Tape. This is whatEurovision participating broadcasterssend through to Norway's state broadcaster NRKto help them in putting together the all-important camera shots for the big night. Josh has been working hard with a team of experienced choreographers and set designers to find an exciting new way to present the song in Oslo. Pete Waterman popped along to BBC TV Centre today to make sure that everything was going to plan -according to the BBC,he seems very happy withthe plans!

The BBC also announced that the styling for Josh's performance in Oslo will be handled by Frank Strachan. He's the man behind the innovative looks for artists such as Kylie Minogue, Girls Aloud, Jamelia and Pet Shop Boys. And as a very tiny sneak preview of what to expect – there are several wind machines involved…!

Between now and May 29th…

In the near future, Josh will be heading to the Norwegian Embassy in London where he'll be meeting the Ambassador and hopefully meeting Norway's 2010 act Didrik Solli-Tangen (airplanes and volcanic ash-clouds permitting!).

Josh will then begin six weeks of extensive press coverage, with interviews lined up with publications and websites from right across the continent.Josh will alsobe travelling to Europe to promote the UK's 2010 song! More details to follow soon.

The BBC will be visiting several different Eurovision parties in London to find out which of this year's entries are the current front-runners amongst the hardcore Eurovision fans, and will also be reporting on two very exciting events that are going to be taking place in London soon.
