Voting in the first heat of Finland’s UMK 2014 has opened today, as the country moves towards selecting their entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 2014.
Heat one will see six of the 12 contenders performing this Saturday (January 11). The running order for this weekends heat is as follows:
- MIAU – God/Drug
- Dennis Fagerström – My little honey bee
- Lili Lambert – Let me take you there
- Hukka ja Mama – Selja
- Softengine – Something better
- Jasmin Michaela – Kertakäyttösydän
Voting is open from now until it closes again on Saturday during the heat, and the Finnish public can vote via text, phone or online.
The results of the public vote will be combined with a jury vote to determine the over all result. One act will progress straight to the final with four other entries going on to compete in a semi-final at the end of the month.
The contestant finishing in last place will be eliminated from the competition.
The second heat will take place a week later, on January 18, where the 6 remaining contestants will perform their entries.
The final of UMK will take place on February 01, where the final eight songs will compete to be Finland’s entry in the 2014 Eurovision Song Contest in Denmark.
