The 5 time and soon to be 6 time Melodifestivalen entrant and back up vocalist to the Greek entry in 2001 has been lined up as a judge on the Swedish version of Britain’s Got Talent, Talang Sverige on TV3.
Shirley Clamp will soon be making her sixth appearance at Melodifestivalen. The song Burning Alive is co written by Bobby Ljunggren and Henrik Winkstrom. This entry will be sung in Swedish at the contest which begins in February 2014.
Clamp is an established singer in Sweden and her best placing at Melodifestivalen was second position in 2004 with Min Kärlek. The track was written by Bobby Ljunggren, Ingela ‘Pling’ Forsman and Henrik Winkstrom who have all had a long association with the contest having written many past winners such as Evighet and Se pa mig.

She also provided back up vocals to the Greek entry which came third in Copenhagen at the 2001 Eurovision Song Contest. Co-incidentally the entry compromised of Helena Paparizou on lead vocals as part of Antique. Clamp will be competing against Helena at Melodifestivalen 2014. Paparizou is participating with the track Survivor which is also co-authored by Bobby Ljunggren and Henrik Winkstrom as well.
Shirley Clamp was recently selected to be a judge on the Swedish version of Simon Cowell’s Britan’s Got Talent. Branded in Sweden as Talang Sverige the judging panel will also consist of Robert Aschberg, Carolina Gynning and Tobias Karlsson. Clamp will follow in good footsteps as Charlotte Perrelli was a former judge on the programme between 2009 -2011 when it was just Talang on TV4.
2014 will prove to be an exciting time for Shirley as she makes her Melodifestivalen comeback as a solo artist proving she has the gravitas and experience to give solid tangible advice as a judge on Talang Sverige.
