Kirsti Sparboe, the acclaimed Norwegian singer and actress, has sadly passed away at the age of 79. Hailing from Tromsø, Sparboe left an indelible mark on both the Norwegian cultural landscape and the international stage of the Eurovision Song Contest.

Sparboe’s connection to Eurovision was particularly strong, as she proudly represented Norway three times during the 1960s. She first took to the Eurovision stage in 1965, followed by appearances in 1967 and 1969. Her contributions to the contest cemented her status as one of Norway’s most iconic Eurovision participants.

Her passing marks the end of an era for many who grew up with her music and performances. Tributes are expected to pour in from across Norway and the wider Eurovision community as fans remember her legacy.
