Edsilia Rombley and Glennis Grace are both part of a new music project in The Netherlands. Under the name of Ladies of Soul, the former Eurovision participants work together with the singers Trijntje Oosterhuis and Berget Lewis and the  saxophonist Candy Dulfer. The new group recently released a single and will perform two concerts next year.

Trijntje Oosterhuis (who collaborated with Anouk), Berget Lewis, Glennis Grace, Edsilia Rombley and Candy Dulfer will perform together in the Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam on 14 and 15 February 2014. The Ladies Of Soul will perform some of their own solo hits, but they will also sing some of the most well-known classics in soul music of all time.

To promote the concerts, the ladies recorded a new single together, called I’ll carry you. The track is written by Tjeerd Oosterhuis, husband of Edsilia and brother of Trijntje, who previously composed On top of the world, Edsilia’s Eurovision entry in 2007. When a Dutch radio DJ asked the singers if they would consider participating in Eurovision as the Ladies of Soul, both Trijntje and Berget were enthusiastic about the idea. Edsilia and Glennis, who both participated before, had their doubts, but would think about it.

Edsilia Rombley represented The Netherlands at the Eurovision Song Contest of 1998 with the song Hemel en Aaarde, finishing in the 4th position. In 2007, she returned to Eurovision, but did not make it to the final with On top of the world. Glennis Grace finished on the 15th place of the semi-final in 2005 with My impossible dream.
