Norway’s national broadcaster NRK has officially announced the opening of the submission window for Melodi Grand Prix 2027. Artists and songwriters are now invited to submit their original songs for a chance to represent Norway at the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest, with the deadline set for 31 August 2026.
NRK seeks Norway’s next Eurovision representative
NRK, the Norwegian national broadcaster, has officially kicked off its search for the country’s entry to the Eurovision Song Contest 2027. Aspiring artists and talented songwriters are encouraged to submit their songs for consideration in Melodi Grand Prix (MGP), Norway’s beloved national selection show. The submission window is now officially open and will close on 31 August 2026.
This provides a golden opportunity for musicians to showcase their work on one of the biggest stages in Europe. Potential participants are advised to prepare their entries promptly to meet the deadline. Norway has confirmed its participation in the forthcoming 2027 Eurovision Song Contest, which is set to take place in Bulgaria.

Requirements for competing at MGP 2026:
- The song must be an original composition, pure AI compositions will not be considered.
- The song cannot be longer than 3 minutes. Songs longer than this will not be considered.
- The song must not have been performed or released before September 1, 2026.
- The song must have at least one Norwegian songwriter.
- The artist must have turned 18 by May 1, 2027.
- Each producer/songwriter may submit a maximum of three songs.
