This year Bulgaria went back to a national final where both the artist and song was decided. Poli Genova who had tried to represent Bulgaria a few times before was finally selected to represent the country with the song Na inat which translate as For spite written by Poli Genova, Sebastian Arman, Boris Milanov, David Bronner. For the fourth year running Bulgaria failed to make it to the final by placing 12th in the semi final with 48 points.
