The time has come, the decision for the 2020 Eurovision host city deliberation is imminent, the two cities remaining in the battle, Rotterdam and Maastricht, will be handing in today a sealed envelope to NPO with further information and details on their respective plan of action to host the event.

The 2020 Eurovision Committee (NPO, AVROTROS, NOS) held a series of meetings with the finalist cities Rotterdam and Maastricht both on location and at the Media Park in Hiliversum throughout July and early August.

Herafter both the cities were asked to elaborate further on their respective bids and to provide more detailed information to the organizing body.

It does seem that both Maastricht and Rotterdam will be battling until the very last minute in their quest to host the upcoming Eurovision in the Netherlands.

Initially nine cities appplied to host the competition, but only five cities officially submitted a bid book to NPO.

Rotterdam and Maastricht  have both handed in the required additional information to the 2020 ESC Committee who will now scrutise meticuously all the data and additional details. Herafter the organizing body will meet the EBU in order to evaluate the two finalist bids and discuss the latest findings ahead of the final decision.

The 2020 Eurovision Host City is set to be unveiled on Friday 30th August along with the dates of the three shows.
