The semi-final stage of Melodifestivalen 2019 concludes this week with the fourth and final semi-final live from Lidköping. After tonight, we will have seen all of the acts bidding to represent Sweden at the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest.
Tonight will see two more winners sent direct to the final, and two further acts chosen for the second chance round, which will take place next week. The hosts of the show will again be Marika Carlsson, Sarah Dawn Finer, Kodjo Akolor and three-time Melodifestivalen contestant and Swedish representative at the 2011 contest, Eric Saade.
- Pagan Fury – Stormbringer
- Anton Hagman – Känner dig
- Lisa Ajax – Torn
- Arvingarna – I do
- Bishara – On my own
- Ann-Louise Hanson – Kärleken finns kvar
- John Lundvik – Too late for love
Pagan Fury and Bishara are both making their Melodifestivalen debut. Anton Hagman famously knocked out Eurovision winner Loreen’s second attempt Statements in the second chance round Melodifestivalen 2017 with his only previous attempt Kiss you goodbye. Lisa Ajax has competed twice before, in 2016 and 2017 finishing seventh and ninth respectively. John Lundvik finished third in Melodifestivalen last year, and is also the writer of this year’s UK Eurovision entry, Bigger than us.
Ann-Louise Hanson will be competing in Melodifestivalen for the fourteenth time, having also previously attempted to represent Germany at the Eurovision Song Contest. Arvingarna have competed four times previously, in 1993, 1995, 1999 and 2002. In 1993, they won Melodifestivalen and represented Sweden in Millstreet with the song Eloise, where they finished in seventh place.
As for the previous semi-finals, the winners will be determined 100% by the audience, through phone calls and the revamped Melodifestivalen App.
