Finland: Saara Aalto’s Monsters goes viral; 1.1 million views on YouTube

Actually, we are yet to know whether this is going to be a Eurovision entry or not. However, the YouTube viewers seem to have already gone crazy with the first-announced candidate song of Saara Aalto for Finland’s national selection (UMK) Uuden Musiikin Kilpailu 2018, Monsters!

Demons back, dance all night!

Monsters was released on 8 February and managed to get over 1 million YouTube streams in less than 20 days! At the moment, the potential Eurovision song has reached 1.144 million views and counting. It is an uptempo pop entry, penned by Saara Aalto, Joy Deb, Linnea Deb and Ki Fitzgerald. During its video clip, Saara is flanked by eccentrically dressed and painted male dancers, with whom she’s leaving behind all her previous fears, demons and monsters tonight, according to her song’s lyrics.

Saara’s is all set to compete at the Finnish national selection show, which will be held this Saturday 3 March in Espoo, Finland. Here is the official music video of the song, unveiled by the Finnish national broadcasting service YLE:

Saara’s other two potential Eurovision tracks are Domino and Queens, revealed after one and two weeks respectively. The final outcome of UMK will emerge by both televoting and international jury panels.

Finland, represented by Saara Aalto is going to perform in the 2nd half of the first semi-final evening on 8 May. The 63rd Eurovision Song Contest will be taking place on 8, 10 and 12 May at the Altice Arena in Lisbon, Portugal.
