Slovenia is gearing up for the Grand Final of EMA 2018, with new details revealed by broadcaster RTVSLO.
Slovenia’s Eurovision selection Evrovizijska Melodija (EMA) 2018 will reach its climax in the Grand Final on Saturday 24 February 2018. In advance of the competition, RTVSLO has unveiled details about the artists, the hosts, the running order and the voting procedure.
Songs in English and Slovenian
Although all potential entries were sung in the Slovenian language during the semi-final, the Grand Final will see some changes in song choice. BQL (Ptica) and INA SHAI (V nebo) have opted to present the English versions of their EMA 2018 entries, respectively titled Promise and Glow. The remaining six finalists will perform the original Slovenian versions of their songs.
The hosts
The Grand Final of EMA 2018 will be hosted by Vid Valič and artist Raiven, who participated in EMA herself. Raiven is very proud to co-host EMA 2018’s final, as she shared on Facebook:

Voting procedure
The winner will be determined by 50/50 jury-public vote.
The professional jury is comprised out of various sections, including music performers (singers and other performing artists), music professionals (authors of music, lyrics, arrangements) and producers, a radio jury (radio editors, journalists), a television jury (editors, directors, choreographers, designers of the corporate image), the jury of Eurovision-fans (members of the official Eurovision Song Contest fan club, OGAE Slovenia) and the international jury (musicians, television and radio creators, journalists, representatives of publishing houses/publishers).

Slovenia in Eurovision
Slovenia debuted in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1993 and is yet to win the competition. The country achieved its best results in 1995 and 2001 when it placed 7th.
