The moment has come to elect the representative of Latvia to the Eurovision Song Contest 2018 in Lisbon! After three semi-finals, the final of Supernova 2018 takes places tonight in Latvia.

It has been a great national selection in the Baltic republic. It took three semi-finals and a wildcard to establish the ultimate lineup for the grand final. Seven acts will compete for the golden ticket to Lisbon.

Eight finalists, one spot

The eight finalists for Supernova 2018 are:

• Lauris Valters  – Lovers bliss
• Laura Rizzotto – Funny girl
• Sudden Lights – Just fine
• MADARA – Esamība
• Ritvars – Who’s counting?
• Liene Greifane – Walk the talk
• Edgars Kreilis – Younger days
• Markus Riva – This time

The band Sudden Lights received the sole wild card available to compete tonight. Initially eliminated from the competition, Markus Riva was admitted to the final after national broadcaster LTV discovered voting irregularities.

As for the previous shows, tonight’s event will be hosted by Justs Sirmais (Eurovision 2016) and Dagmāra Legante.
